Hybrid Content Management System (CMS) Websites

Media Architects Designs the Appearance & Function
"Many organizations want to manage only frequently changing content on their websites. This type of site we call a Hybrid CMS."
A hybrid CMS website design is one where the client can make their own website updates in specific areas of their website using a login. It is designed from the beginning so that pre selected areas that require frequent updates are edited using a password online. We intentionally design the CMS areas to be edited by those with only basic familiarity with the Internet. These website areas can include blogs, messages from the company president, project photos, databases, etc. You, the client, perform the updates in a framework and design that is created just for your business.
The currently most popular hybrid CMS website design is used by businesses of various scopes and sizes. These are a few examples:
- Castle Manor Inn Photo Albums and Calendar
- Jeanette Griffith Artwork
- Salisbury Salvage Cars for Sale Inventory Ecommerce
Making website updates is made simple for clients by Media Architects
We create a login (or logins) whereby the client goes to a url on the Internet to access a login page, the User provides a login name and password and then proceeds to a page to edit certain or all pages of their website. The overall look, feel (brand) and functionality of the site is normally static however - altered by Media Architects as requested.
Even with a CMS website, you can ask us to perform updates on your behalf. The type of update can range from text changes to project photo gallery changes. We can edit-optimize your new project photos, for example, and then upload them via your Admin login to your website for viewing.
Is the CMS design approach comparable in cost to a non-CMS site?
Normally CMS sites cost more up front. CMS sites require more effort and time on the part of the designer. They also normally cost you more for us to administer over time, given that updates and Internet changes occur over time as a constant.
However, CMS can cost less over time if your organization requires changing the site content frequently, as would be the case with a retail site (ecommerce), special event, restaurant or club site, or a site that is essentially a blog at its core. I recommend CMS for these types of sites. What you would have paid us to do, for example, you are paying your staff to do instead.
